Snakecharmer Music Video, Milton Keynes
When we arrived at the Marshall Amplification Theatre in Milton Keynes, it was like walking in to a museum of great British music history. With thousands of amps and guitars strewn across the walls and six of the most highly-esteemed and experienced rock musicians from bands such as Whitesnake, Wishbone Ash & Ozzy Osbourne, we were extremely privileged to have this opportunity to meet and work with these amazing rock legends who now perform under the name Snakecharmer.
Originally founded in 2011 by former Whitesnake members Micky Moody and Neil Murray, the super-group Snakecharmer includes a perfect mix of high calibre musicians with Laurie Wisefield (Wishbone Ash), Harry James (Thunder), Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne) and Chris Ousey (Heartland). Musically, Snakecharmer is everything you would expect from musicians with such a pedigree: a finely crafted hard rock album with blues and melodic overtones.
After 2 hours of equipment and light set up, we began recording the first take of the performance video and Snakecharmer did not disappoint. The band was so energetic, passionate and focused and 10 takes later, they still displayed the same level of energy and enthusiasm than that of the first take. We ran through the video 12 times with 5 cameras but when we came to edit the video together, we all started to regret that decision! But like editing warriors, we went through every one of those 60 takes to ensure we used the best moment from each and every one of those performances.
